Nikki Galvan
Nikki Galvan was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona and is a graduate of Dobson High School. She has over 11 years of experience in teaching at Mesa Public Schools District. She began as an aide for a Self-Contained Emotional Disability Classroom at Dobson High School, Kindergarten Aide at Hermosa Vista Elementary, and an aide for Specific Learning Disability at Smith Jr. High.
After becoming a certified educator in 2015, she began teaching 1st and 2nd grade at Hermosa Vista Elementary. After COVID and the multitude of changes throughout our community and district, she switched to teach Junior English at Red Mountain High School. Although she loved teaching at the high school level, her true heart and soul is to the elementary classroom so she transitioned back to elementary teaching 2nd and 3rd grade at Las Sendas Elementary prior to joining the Polaris family.
Ms. Galvan earned a dual major with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education from Northern Arizona University. In addition, she holds a certificate in Special Education (Cross Categorical) and Elementary Education (ELL Endorsement). Currently she is completing her Master’s degree from Grand Canyon University in Educational Technology.
Her vision and Philosophy at Polaris are to create a classroom culture that is warm, inviting, and supportive of each unique quality and talent within each student. To know every student by their name, their strengths, and what makes them cultivate a passion for learning.
Outside of school, she enjoys running, hiking, Latin dancing and going on road trips around Arizona to see its hidden gems. She is family focused and enjoys spending time with her cousins, uncles, aunts and grandmother. She enjoys singing and has been involved with many singing groups who have performed at Chase Field, ASU Gammage, Mesa Arts Center and at Carnegie Hall.
